This poem is about myself wondering if there comes a point where you have to admit to yourself this is as good as it's going to get, you are as healed as you're going to be able to heal. Is there a point where you cannot get any better than what you are now?

I wrote this when I went on a school trip to Belgium. We went to Tyncot Cemetery where thousands of fallen soilders are buried. This cemetery, is also the resting place of the youngest soilder ever to be killed in WW2. He was just 14. He lied about being 18 in order to join. I sat by this boys grave for hours and this poem just came to me. Of course I do not know anything about his life but this is what I imagine his story to be.

One of the few things I've really enjoyed looking up to were fireflies. To me, they are a symbol of hope piercing a shroud of darkness... or a spark of creativity lying in the most unknown of places to be unveiled. That's where I got "Firefly" from, ladies and gentlemen! It is filled with poetic writing, inspirational talk, and quotations! The book covers subjects based on many genres; like romance, hope, freedom, happiness, and a whole lot more. But what they all have in common is that they make you somewhat "dream" of all the things we love and care for. And they're all jolly, none are dark or suicidal! Mates, lads, and gals... Enjoy the book, have fun, and go 'cloud 9' all over with it! Hit the star if you liked it, comment your notions, and follow for those updates; tell your friends and family too, if you want to share it with all... Thank you very much, folks! - MS

to be free with your thoughts to take comfort in your mind to be as changing as the shifting sands to open your mind to light to ramble on about things unsaid to look back over the tides to understand the ramblings of your mind that is to truly write Highest Ranking: 11th in Poetry on 9/28/15

These poems are simply my emotions. Most of these poems are fictionalized while some are loosely based upon my own experiences. I never thought that I would express my feelings and aspirations with anyone but myself. I surprised myself when I started writing poetry almost two years ago. Furthermore, I hope that you find these poems relative and interesting. Highest ranking in poetry, #27 No Infringement will be tolerated. © Copyright 2017 by Hannah Phillips Cover art is not mine.

"People change just like the seasons That which is gone can never come back But it's always up to us to rejoice for who we have Or to mourn for those whom we lack ." My poetry is just an attempt to capture everything we see around us, be it people, emotions, nature or stories, so I hope I succeed in bringing that out, and I hope somewhere among these poems, everyone can find something that relates to them.
