Japan was in a state of change after the arrival of Commodore Perry. Thus the capital went through changes that westernized Japan. Reiko was bred in Tokyo, formerly known as Edo. Her mother, on the other hand, lives in a remote village in the Aiko district. Because of a misunderstanding, Reiko found herself immersed in her mother's world and her mother lost in her daughter's. What will they discover in these two different worlds, both of them lost in a world different from their own?
