Dean has left Cas in desperation. The war had scarred him and it had scarred him bad. With Cas now out of his life, he's even more lost than he was before. (I just want to clarify that I did not write the original "Twist and Shout". I recently finished reading it and it had bruised and beat my heart to a pulp.
