"...A time when the United States is what we fight for..." The occupants of the Grisham Hall boarding house were no strangers to the war effort. Brothers, cousins, old flames, and current sweethearts have been wrenched from their grasp, the only contact to their stolen loved ones is military-grade pencils and scraps of paper. Estelle prides herself on her mind for numbers but a usurper from her past rears his russet head and threatens to steal her thoughts every chance he gets. Bessie has been searching for a home in every patron in that cafe but she's left seeing his face everywhere she looks. Constance hears her lover's voice on the wind, finding quiet in the graveyard shift of the machine shop. Margaret refuses to admit defeat but the distance between her letters and her love grows wider each day. Jeannette has read many stories about tragic heroes. Her childhood friend has told tales of his plans for wealth and ending the war on his own. She just hopes she has a chance to do her part first.

Collaboration with @silmarilz1701 Svetlana knew how to play the game. She'd been caught in the political drama of Stalin's inner circle since birth. The only child of one of Stalin's closest friends, she grew up in the limelight, scrutinized by friend and foe. With the outbreak of the war, Sveta found a taste of freedom with the snipers. For Zhanna, her place in the military was the only thing she could be proud of, giving her a tie to the place she called home. With the grace of others looming over her head, Zhanna had only one chance to be more than the blood inside her veins and the prayer on her lips. But then the Nazis invaded the Motherland. Tasked with reaching the Allies by her father, Sveta once more found herself a political pawn. But she wouldn't go alone. Friend and comrade Zhanna joined her in their flight from Russia. But with the Eastern Front crumbling, the girls found themselves at the mercy of America for a way home. And that way home meant learning to jump with the Airborne. They were already soldiers. How hard could that be? For Zhanna, she may be able to embrace the company of those around her. But for Sveta, the daughter of a man who represented everything the Allies worked against in the Bolshevik Revolution, it may be too difficult. * * * * Title Inspiration: "Death to the German invaders! Long live our glorious Motherland, her liberty and her independence! Under the banner of Lenin, forward to victory!" - J. Stalin, Speech at the Red Army Parade, November 7, 1941 Cover by @swedeandspicy

Putting together a large collaborative story isn't easy. But in my experience, it is totally worth it. Semi frequently (and more and more recently) I have people asking me to help with getting started writing. Along with that, I sincerely regretted not recording my progress on my latest fic series, especially the developmental stages. So I figured, why not try to kill two birds with one stone. AdamantiumDragonfly (Flora) and I (Silz / Julianne) are tackling a large Band of Brothers OC fanfic in the coming weeks and months. We are working together, with the main fic published under her account here on Wattpad, and my account on Ao3 and FFN. This book is about what we do to make it come true. I'm not an expert. Far from it. But I have been around the block for awhile, both as a writer and a member of collaborative stuff. So hopefully I can provide some insights, including how to develop more unusual plots, characters, etc, and maybe how to get your book out there and read. This will all be through the lense of Band of Brothers fanfiction, but should be pretty applicable to most fandoms.

Grace Whitehead, code name Hélène, has a 5 million-franc price on her head, but that doesn't stop her commitment to SOE, Special Operations Executive. On D-Day, she parachutes into Normandy along with the leader of French Resistance and their radioman, to deliver intelligence to the Airborne. When the head of SOE tells her the Gestapo has raised the price on her head, the only way to let it die is by faking her death and going undercover with Easy Company. Loosely based on the true story of Nancy Wake.
