It's been six months since an American satellite exploded in its descent to earth from its usual home in orbit. The malfunction caused more than just property damage. Approximately one half of the human population was vaporized instantly as the satellite pieces rained over the earth. The victims weren't gone for long, however, re materializing as ghostly entities with no memories of their former lives, many with a lust for the blood of the living and a habit of possessing their bodies. The world of the living responded quickly, building electric fences around their towns, capturing any ghosts that dared cross those lines, and in their fear, trying to kill them. The Cohen and Carver families have been at odds for nineteen years, with teens Milo Carver and Beck Cohen at the frontline of the quiet war. Forced together in a bid to protect a kindhearted ghost girl named Annette, Milo and Beck face their shared pasts while trying to convince their small town's ignorant leaders of the innocence of Annette and the population of other harmless ghosts who were written off as killers. The Universe Revealed is my attempt to discuss more thoroughly the main questions that we humans should ask about our existence, our universe and our place in it. These are mostly my thoughts on science, religion and philosophy as it applies to the human condition. My first book, The Theory of Nothing, covered many subjects. This book will be more specific to the big questions about life and what it means.

Monochromatic. That's how I see my world. Everything is black, white, and grey. Well, it was at least, until the day I met them.

I've always believed I can make a difference. The faith I have in this is unwavering. When I came home on my tenth birthday to find my mother's fragile mental state swinging into crazed, I still believed I could help. I thought it was a problem of my making, and I've lived my life trying to remedy the mistake every since. Never mind that I don't know what I did. Never mind that she hits me and yells. Forget the fact that I sometimes want to die because I feel so worthless. Ignore all of that because this one idea is all I can think about. Making a difference in her life and others' lives consumes me. But will it destroy me too? Maybe. Maybe not. I'll find out when I reach the breaking point. As to where that point is? Only time will tell. The only thing I know for sure anymore is that I have to try to make up for my sins, whatever they are. And until I do that, I doubt I'll ever find my peace.
