As I was in awe by his perfection, I didn't notice that he was already standing in front of me. Snapping out of my trance, I was starting to tremble under his intense gaze. I heard his deep and husky voice speak. "Beauty can pierce one like a pain. But pretty girls who are unaware of their looks are more attractive than gorgeous girls who flaunt it." He touched a strand of my hair and tucked it behind my ear. Then, he turned around and and told my parents. "I want her. I choose her as my queen." Mother let out a gasp. I couldn't understand. It was almost as if my brain had been short-circuited and needed to be rebooted. Around me, everything was in fast-forward while I was in the middle of it. How could this happen? ❝Open Up. I curled under the jungle gym and cried my eyes out. Suddenly a shadow hovered over me. I looked up saw a boy about my age staring at me with a Unknown expression. He bent down and wiped away my tears with the pad of his thumbs. I immediately stopped crying and looked into his bright Emerald eyes. "Why are you crying?" He asked and I looked down. "Because I know that'll never make friends here" I said quietly. He was quiet for a minute before finally speaking up. "I'll be your friend" he said quietly while looking into my eyes. I smiled a toothy grin. "Really!?" I asked and he nodded his head. |1st Place Diamond Winner of the Gem Awards 2017!| A quiet knock shook her out of her gloom. She hesitated on the door knob, before pulling it open. Bash. His eyes shone in the candle light, and yet he could find no words. He pushed open the door haphazardly, melding his lips to hers in an instant. Her door clicking shut behind him. He pressed her against the worn oak, his hands remaining steadfast on her waist. It was everything he wanted and everything he couldn't have.
