Caleigh Lansky isn't like others her age. Her little sister, Heavyn, has been diagnosed with Leukemia and their mother died when Heavyn was a newborn. Their father hardly gets to see them and when he does see them, it is from behind bars. Caleigh and Heavyn are sent to live with a foster family until either their father is released from prison or another family member comes forth to take care of them. Problems, both physical and mental, arise and Caleigh begins to self-harm and refuses to eat. A family member that they never knew existed comes forth and takes the children. Caleigh and Heavyn have to move across the country to restart their entire lives. Their neighbor seems to be interested in Caleigh and goes out of his way to befriend her. She tries to keep herself from having an emotional attachment to anything so it will be easier for her to let herself fall apart. In the meanwhile, Heavyn's condition worsens and it is only a matter of time before both Lansky girl's let go of everything they have ever known. 2013, tnl.
