28 long years have passed since the events of Survival. The Changed have dominated the world. Perce lives in one of the final strongholds of humanity, a community in the middle of a lake. There's only one rule for those who venture outside the safety of Venice: trust nobody. But Perce has never been much of a rule-follower.

It was just a Native American symbol for friendship, they thought. But friendship in a place like Grimwood, as it turns out, transcends all things -- even death. And when one of the members of the group dies, then rises, they realize it's more serious than they could have imagined. The teens keep dropping and rising one by one- putting everyone around them in danger of succumbing to their sharp teeth and their curse. It's up to the others still alive to solve the problem before it gets vastly out of hand and they bring on a worldwide accidental zombie apocalypse.

The government is only spoken of by just that, and no one knows who actually runs and decides things. What is the mystery behind the silent, stoic people that protect the citybases and its citizens? What becomes of you after you die? Most souls do move on to either a heaven or hell, however some souls don't get that luxury. Some are called upon the Divine to become "Reapers" working with Death himself. A Reaper's job is to collect and harvest souls so those can go to heaven or hell. That is, until recently. However, there's more to working with him than she anticipates. She's attracted to him. There's this feeling she gets around him that she doesn't understand. However, Death understands it completely. Vivienne wasn't just chosen by the Divine to become a Reaper, she was chosen to be Death's mate for the rest of eternity. The problem is, she has this murderous ability she can't control. A simple short story of a man whose boss sent him on a mysterious trip. But where he ended up is even more confusing. A decent story if you want to be creeped out.
