Lucy ran away on her 4th birthday running into the Black woods. That was where she met a Dragon.

After Lucy got kicked out of Fairy Tail, not team Natsu, she went to the forest to train. This way, she became too strong until Fairy Tail, in the Grand Magic Tournament.....
