In memoriile ei, o opera de o reflexivitate profunda, scrisa intr-un stil fermecator, Michelle Obama ii invita pe cititori in lumea sa, facand o cronica a experientelor ce au format-o, pormind de la copilaria petrecuta in partea de sud a orasului Chicago, trecand prin anii in care a fost director executiv si a trebuit sa imbine responsabilitatile de mama cu cele profesionale, si ajungand la anii petrcuti la cea mai vestita adresa din lume. Descrie cu sinceritate desavarsita si cu o inteligenta vie reusitele si dezamagirile, atat din plan public, cat si din cel personal, relatandu-si povestea asa cum a trait-o, folosindu-se de propriile ei cuvinte si asa cum doreste ea. Plina de caldura, de intelepciune si de revelatii, Povestea mea este o insumare neobisnuit de intima ce vine din partea unei femei inimoase si plina de caracter, care a sfidat necontenit asteptarile, si a carei poveste ne inspira.
