This book follows four teenagers from four different parts of the U.S. when their lives are dramatically changed one day. When zombies become real and more than just horror movies and scary books, they're forced to fight to stay alive. What they don't know is how similar their struggles are, along with their goal: get to the supposed safe haven alive. (The book is under editing right now, and I'll be changing the location of the safe haven from Columbus to Cincinnati. I didn't really think it through when I first wrote this but I think that Cincinnati would make a little more sense. Sorry for any confusion!) *************** BEING REWRITTEN I started writing this at 14, and it started out as something I made just for fun. The story was mostly imporvised, and I don't like how it's turned out. I've had a lot of new and hopefully more interesting ideas, and there's so much that I decided to rewrite the whole thing completely. The story will be very different but the characters will be the same for the most part. It'll have the same style of writing with the different points of view, but separated between books instead of chapters, and I already have a storyline laid for the first 2 or 3. I'm sorry for the people that like the original story and were hoping for more, so I won't be deleting this one. I'll update on my page once I start posting chapters of the new series.

Who will lead them in these rising times of peril? What will they face, who will they lose, and how will they keep each other alive? And by alive, they mean alive and themselves. Not moving and killing. Follow along as this rag tag group of teens survive an apocalyptic world that gets worse by the moment. For any who started "Presences", I decided to combine it with "When August Ends" instead of doing two separate books so it is now a part of this single novel.

As she swung her axe right over my head , hitting another zombie square in the head, sending a spray of blood all over the back of me. "We have to jump!" i screamed at everyone at the top of my lungs, i looked around to find at least 75% of our group either eaten or eating some one else. i knew i was being too slow in making my decisions, but all i could concentrate on was the sound of my heart beating in my chest. i pulled nicol to the floor and away from the zombie that nearly chewed off her head and watched her send a knife into its head with what seemed no effort at all. Then i turned and moved quicker than i have before to stop the zombie that i saw coming for me from the corner of my eye, i stopped dead in my tracks as my heart sank into the bloody stream of my circulation of life. I realised the zombie i was facing, was Rose...

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? The zombie apocalypse started in April. Hannah couldn't fathom how she was able to remember something so irrelevant, although when she has over a year of isolation from any other living human being it's startling as to how much detail and information one person can manage to reminisce. She was 15 years old when it began. Now, she was turning 17 and nothing had gotten better. If anything, everything had become harder. Human extinction was inevitable and the probability of surviving wasn't just slightly possible, it was impossible. Especially when she's alone.
