"I-I think I'm in love with you." My eyes widened and my breath caught as those words left his lips. It was my worst and most beautiful nightmare coming alive. But I couldn't, I just couldn't. "I-I can't, I'm sorry." I started running away, wiping the stray tears that betrayed me and leaked, with the palm of my hand. I sniffed, feeling a growing pain in my heart. I clutched my chest, barely able to handle it. I kept running, but when I knew I was far enough, I fell to my knees, still holding my chest. That's when I heard it. The sound that shouldn't even be audible was so loud in the still silence that it swayed the trees. But maybe that was just an illusion. Maybe only I could hear it. The sound of my heart breaking. ______________________________________ Two people. Entirely opposite in only one manner. Noah's on his 'quest for love,' and Jade cowers from any such feelings. (Bfflad- Best friends for life and death) Dear Reader, Let's start at the beginning shall we? I died. Oh no, not one of these stories again where someone angelic and heroic saves the damsel in distress. If only I was that lucky. My heart stopped beating. My lungs stopped working, my soul began to lift away... And then I was saved by a beautiful man with a kind heart and sparkles sprinkled around his head in a golden halo. A cunning, dazzling smile etched his angled features and his hair lay perfectly on his head like...black, sinful layers of pure cynical distrusting evil. Evil that was just waiting to onset a innocent girl as myself and allow her a short amount of time of happiness, and then finish her off when she became older. I'll give you a hint. The beginning of that description was slightly exaggerated. The Angel of Death. One of the only creatures known that was capable of settling the boundaries of heaven on earth. The only creature capable of making one of the Devil's darkest deals to my loving mother; a second chance for her daughter. This comes with consequences of course. Everything you know about Death is wrong. Death is not natural, Death is not normal, Death is not doleful, and Death is far from mercenary. Death blends into the shadows like coal against the most atramentous sky. Death walks the earth with his cursed, monstrous and exotic features, his enticing voice and betraying alluring eyes. Death deceives, scratches, and plays with your mind, until you slowly and painfully loose your grip on reality. He'll make you believe he's a different person, that there's a sliver hope for him. Hope for you. Death is close. I never thought the day would come. Me returning to where I was born to see my wicked witch of a grandmother. Not to mention the place where my parents died the day I was delivered and took my first breath in this world. I had no one else in this to take care of me, and I wasn't old enough to live alone quite yet, but soon. I'm Aurora Ryer, daughter of Serina and Joseph Ryer. Granddaughter of Alice Moore. Yes, the one and only. Owner of Moore in Life. I would of never have guessed that she wanted to meet me, never alone, live with her. While I was growing up in Arizona and Georgia, she never said a word to me. She probably didn't want to see the disgraced face from her disowned daughter. Moving was fine with me since I had no one else back home. My dad's mother died, she was becoming too old. I was happy to leave that place, and a bit glad to be back., until I found out the truth why I was really brought back here.
