V dnešní době má každý svého chráněnce. Chráněnec je druh zvířete, který vás doprovází všude. Ať už chcete nebo ne, bude stále po vašem boku. Představuje naši podstatu, povahu, budoucí život. Prostě nás. Chráněnci samy přichází, jakmile se dítě dostane do určitého věku. U chlapců je to kolem desíti let, u dívek kolem osmi. Koneckonců dívky dospívají dříve. Když jsme v tom určitém věku, přijde spousta zvířat a vypadá to, jako kdyby si na vás přišli smlsnout. Přichází masožravci, býložravci, všežravci. Velká i malá zvířata. Dva nejvíce vyhynulý druhy je tygr bílý a černý panter. Tyto dva druhy prý přestali chodit už kdysi, kdysi dávno. Jak se asi bude žít chlapcovi, který získal Bílého tygra? Jak se mu bude žít, jakmile potká někoho, komu by mohl věřit? Jak se zachová až potká onu osobu? Jaký mu život přinese (ne)štěstí?
