When Scarlett Rivers' long term boyfriend of two years comes to her house late at night- drunk, she then discovers his secret. He was always a sweetheart, he knew the right words to say, he made her feel loved-- but it was all an act. He wasn't her knight and shining armor, no. He was a manipulative conceited jerk that only cared about taking her virginity, and when he got what he wanted- he left, leaving Scarlett to deal with the pain and hurt of being heartbroken. From then on, she turned her back on love and focused on building her walls up higher so that no one would ever be able to hurt her again. Then comes Carter Beckett, the mysterious bad boy. He isn't one to open up easily. He, alike Scarlett, built his walls high enough and that kept him safe. He doesn't trust anyone, especially not a stranger. But what happens when he meets Scarlett, a girl just as troubled as he is? Would he be able to help her, and she him? Or would he be stubborn and turn his back on her, just like he did to everyone else?
