There's two kingdoms, the Möbius kingdom, who ruled by Charles and his wife Aleena and his 2 sons and daughter, it was a happy kingdom that everyone loved their king and queen and their princess and princes but the Dark kingdom, who ruled by Mephiles and his son Nazo and daughter Amelia Rose (Amy Rose), it was a tortured kingdom that everyone were slaves by that ruthless King and his son but not Amy she's a pure hearted girl like her mother and treated everyone in the kingdom with kindness, everyone loved Amy Those two kingdoms were in War with each other, but one night near the lake when the prince Sonic of Möbius kingdom met Amy Rose of the Dark kingdom their hearts fell in love with each other, it's a forbidden love if their fathers found out but it didn't stop them from seeing each other

Amy Rose seems pretty much a blunder in the team. No matter how many missions or tasks they had to do, she's always getting kidnapped or being weak everytime.
