In the dystopian story, The Arrangement of the Law, Bethany has come of the age of when she must decide where she will live out her life in a seven-country society. She can choose anywhere, but the Capitol, Sulligent. Long ago the seven countries made a treaty with one another to stay united, but a rule they all agreed upon hurt the people most of all. The Arrangement of the Law. As soon as a baby is born, it is sent to the country of Winnett to be raised with no obligations from the lives they have come from. Every 5 years children ages 14-19 are allowed the day of The Decision to meet their parents. The child can then ask whatever they desire to know. If the child decides to live with their family like Bethany chose to- they are sent by train to travel to the country. Bethany is faced with many things in her new life, like having a stalker lover, an unknown sister become pregnant, a fire, and a secret. A secret so valuable, it is worth more than her own life. Can she handle her new life? Or will she fall into ruins?

Heather Sanders is an ordinary girl. She runs cross country, draws, reads, and writes. She was in the top 10% of her senior class and has an average GPA of 4.1. What's not to like about this girl? She still struggles with the fact that she has no idea of what she wants to do now that she's done with high school. Of course she is going to college, but with all the stress going on in her life, she feels like it's only going to get worse. With her low ACT score to her self-esteem. Everyone except Heather thinks she is an award winning girl. She has always been single and has never been truly in love. Maybe that has been because she has never truly thought she was beautiful. All except twice. Once when she was going to her junior prom with her beat friend, Cali. And then when she met Zander Ryker. The twenty one year old basketball point guard, and the soccer superstar. They run into one another at Heather's part time job at The Wet bar Lounge, where Cali and Heather work as waitresses.

When Jessica Lyons is offered the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice, it feels like fate has handed her the chance to find her own Mr. Darcy. All Jess really wants is to meet an old-fashioned guy who's thoughtful, honest and polite-a real gentleman, just like those romantic heroes in Jane Austen's novels. If he happens to be wearing a tailcoat and figure-hugging breeches she'd consider that a bonus. But in a world where everyone is pretending to be someone else, the line between reality and fiction is never as clear as you expect. Note: This story is a *Work in Progress*.
