Dean couldn't kill the shifter before it killed Cas. They summon his grace to his dying body, but the grace holds no memories of Cas' human life. Dean is devastated that Cas can't remember any of their time together as two humans. Luckily, Bobby is always there to help.

Dean and Cas had a night that Dean doesn't remember. In remembering the night, Dean also realizes his feelings for Cas. Amidst fighting Lucifer and Aswangs and demons oh my, Gabe and Sam realize the same thing. It's going to be tough balancing kids, being alive, and saving the world.
