When Everly Reed collides with the cynical and devilishly handsome Mason Valdez, she knows trouble is ahead, but she never could have guessed how much she would be drawn to the storm. ***** Nineteen-year-old Ever Reed likes when things make sense. Sheltered by her mother and older brother Asher for most of her life, Ever hasn't experienced much of the world, but she knows New York will be an adventure. Enter Mason Valdez: cynical, arrogant, and undeniably attractive-exactly what Ever doesn't need. [Highest Ranking: #483 in Action || March.11.2017] x x x N o t e : I would highly suggest for you to not read this. It's written terribly and the plot is all over the place. This book will be re-written. x x x "I like you, Blake. I like you a lot." Hunter whispers softly. He moves his fingers to brush a strand of my hair back. "And I know you like me too. Why can't you just admit it, Red? Why? x x x When Blake finds out that the tattoo she has can cause danger to the people around her, she is forced to leave the only home she's ever known. Along the way she meets Hunter; a stuck up, cocky, asshole, with a dark past. Together, along with a few new friends, Blake uncovers the real reason as to why her tattoo is so 'dangerous', as well as the shocking hidden secrets of her country's history, which could forever change the future of Mertensia. x x x I know I'm not that great at summaries but I'd really appreciate it if you gave my book a chance. The first few chapters (especially chapter 1 & 2) aren't that great, but it gets better! ~Elm Gray

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't. I had the same thick, dark, curly hair. The same hazel eyes. The same olive skin with a light dusting of freckles (ugh) scattered across the bridge of my nose. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. No, these were an aggressive, dazzling blond that went from the roots of my hair all the way to the tips. It looked like I had spent a full day getting my hair done in some upscale salon. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. My whole body was rippling with strength. Like liquid steel.
