Miss Victoria Hastings, aged twenty-four, was a confirmed spinster. At the height of her glory she was once considered a diamond of the first water, although she had since descended closer to consistency of mud. And, once the ton believed you had been dragged through the proverbial mud, they didn't much care if you stayed there. So, she entered into her 'exile' with a fervent hatred of men, some more so than others. Enter... Lord Anthony Elwes, Duke of Westley, was not a man to be crossed. Having returned from the Orient with the unfortunate business of marriage on his mind, he did not expect the ditzy debutante he once knew to have blossomed into a woman of substantial wiles and wit. Anthony always claimed what he desired, but Victoria could not be bought, bartered or borrowed. Marriage would instead require strategy, stealth... and the seduction of a spinster.

Alana Mitchell came to accept that her life was destined to be a hard and miserable one. In her mind it was only fair. After all, it was her fault her dad was dead and her mother turned to drugs and alcohol. So she was determined to protect her little sisters and spend her life making up for her mistakes. But things get difficult when her mother's condition worsens and tragedy strikes again. When her past and forseeable future threatens to tear her apart, she's forced to fight to keep the promise she made to her father. This is the tale of how one dark night sent Alana Mitchell down the path of pain, misery, and self-hate. The very same path that also leads her to the road to peace of mind, acceptance, and love. Caution: This isn't a story for the faint of heart.

A big thank you to @Rujula07 for the new cover! Amethyst Langston is a romance novelist with a tragic past. The same year her book hit the New York Times Best Seller list, she had a signing at a local book store where she encountered a man most thought harmless, he was anything but. After being kidnapped by Ethan Hamilton and surviving a tortuous eight days, he slipped up and eventually was caught, leading the FBI to a broken and almost dead Amethyst and the heinous trail that Hamilton had left behind him. The trial was the trial of the century, dragging her through all of the painful memories of what he subjected her to, but because she was able to keep her head, the jury came back with a unanimous decision of guilty. Now the penalty phase. Guilty by reason of mental defect. That was laughable. Ethan Hamilton knew exactly what he was doing. He was pure evil. Boston, MA seemed like a good place to start over and after meeting and talking with the court assigned counselor, she did just that. Putting her in touch with a new group, Amethyst meets a quirky, yet sweet English woman named Nigella Ambrose, who is a volunteer at the group. The women form a friendship that rivals anything that Amethyst has ever had and sooner rather than later, Nigella talks her into going on a blind date with a friend of hers. Enter Declan St. James, CEO of DSJ Security Technologies and a real jerk. He's a self made billionaire who thinks the world revolves around him and after his date with Nigella's author friend goes south, he's done. Until they run into each other again. Can Amethyst help him through a hurtful past? Will he let her? Will Declan's heart soften enough to let her in? Will he be able to protect her from her past and the dangers that lie ahead? The names, places and events are all fictional. Any likeness is a sheer coincidence. This work is mine and mine alone.

This story is now in editing. Won't take long, I promise. Feel free to keep reading while I do it. "My lord, you cannot sell me, what will I do? Are you so heartless you would sell me to a Northman?" "You are a woman. You will do as I declare, or you are no offspring of mine, you miserable wench. I say you are to go, and you shall go. If you defy me, I will draw you to my knee." "Father, but..." "ENOUGH. I will have not have you shame me in front of our guests Ailith." He came towards me in large steps and threw me to the floor. Albert, our servant, gave father the cane, and he hit me until my dress was in tatters. I have never forgiven my father.

This book is now available on Amazon and unfortunately they won't allow me to put it up elsewhere for free, not even the unedited draft. Sorry! The Vikings! Aelswyn had heard about them, all the tales of their barbaric behaviour, the rapes and pillages, the massacres, the burnt villages. But she never thought they would dare to attack her father's stronghold. And that they would succeed...

*mature for lang and possible (probable) 'adult' content heh.* I was about to scream for help when a strange sort of smoke seeped from druggies mouth and entwined itself around tall and dark's hand, running up his arm and illuminating the sharp planes of his face, feeding into his slightly parted lips. I gasped, stumbling back from the scene. His eyes shot up to me, their silvery glow locking me in place as our gazes caught. The druggies body feel between us and the man's eyes seemed to illuminate further before everything was plunged into darkness I was petrified, paralyzed in place, a cool indifferent voice broke the silence. a whisper dangerously close to my ear, "sometimes they are unwanted by heaven or hell. Sometimes they have no where to go, no purpose but to feed those who need it." A scream tore from my throat as I felt a cool hand grasp my wrist and my heart beat rapidly dropping, warm breath against my ear. I was dying. Actually dying. ~Jinx Clemens was not the best daughter, not the best sister, and not the best student. READ AFTER READING THE VAMPIRE'S PET. One year ago Lord Dawson shut the doors of his mansion after the tragic death of his pet and has yet to open them since. People living around the manner have not seen their lord in a year, only the occasional glimpse of servants leaving the gates of the huge estate. And every now and then under the light of moon, a beautiful woman in a gown from another time was spotted roaming the gardens near the fence Almost always in blue. They spoke of her as if a legend, a woman, and a great mystery. The beautiful woman. The lady in blue. ~~ "Kaden...honey come to bed." I looked down at my lover as he signed document after document, "not now pet." Shaking my head I poured him his favorite scotch, taking a sip before placing it on the cherrywood desk, "don't be like that, you know you want to play." His gaze flicked up at me, "only if you agree to stop roaming the gardens at night, rumors are spreading." I rolled my eyes, "love you too Kaden." He shot me a smirk sipping at his drink, "do you really love me?" "do you?" I shot back. "I do, I always did, I will for eternity Calla." I grinned wickedly my tiny fangs glimmering in the candlelight and my eyes flashing red. "good remember that or I may just have to find a new lover." His laugh echoed through the room as he pulled me into his lap. I leaned into his chest, "tell me everythings going to be okay." Tell me we will open those doors again soon. "Everything will be okay." !!!Mature for language and sexual content!!!
