Obidvaja prechádzajú výcvikom, sú bojovníci Neba, nazývaní Lovci. Trénujú, aby nakoniec mohli padnúť v boji. Nebu však dochádzajú bojovníci a tak anjeli vymyslia spôsob, ako posadnúť schránky bez ich súhlasu. Keď je matka tehotná, dá povolenie anjelovi odovzdať kúsok Milosti dieťaťu. To sa potom narodí ako Polovičný, má schopnosti anjelov a ľudskú povahu a chápanie. Bohužiaľ, dieťaťu potom zomrie biologický otec. Dean má v tom jasno, chce chrániť svoju rodinu, predovšetkým mladšieho brata, a potom bojovať za vyššie ciele. Lenže čo sa stane, keď vo veku 19 rokov prvý raz stretne svojho Spriaznenca, anjela, ktorý mu venoval Milosť, ktorý má úplne odlišné názory na vojnu ako Dean a ktorého chcú zbaviť Milosti za svoje hriechy? Môže sa toto výnimočné puto prehĺbiť v niečo ešte väčšie, zakázané? Otázkou však zostáva, či na riešenie takýchto vecí bude čas. Peklo sa búri čím ďalej tým odhodlanejšie, vírus sa šíri a počet Nakazených stúpa, Sam je v ohrození a Deanovi pomaly, ale isto tikajú hodinky, signalizujúce čas odchodu...
