A Poem

The blood trickled down my arm. I hissed at the pain from the cut in my wrist. Who knew they could be so sensitive? I sure as hell didn’t. But nevertheless, it almost felt good. The pain was so distracting; I couldn’t seem to concentrate on anything else. Like the fact my mom died. Or that my dad was abusive. Or that my grades were slipping. Or that I lost all my friends. None of that mattered. I got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around my wrist, concentrating on the pain that the pressure brought. I stumbled into my room and collapsed onto my bed, already a little lightheaded from the blood loss. Soon, the world around me faded and I slipped into a deep sleep.
