This story details the fall (but not the end) of a China Doll whose purpose is to tell a story crafted by the sea. After natural forces attempt to silence the Doll, she discovers how life continues after the storm; how sometimes we must wait on the side-lines to understand the "why," and how being broken does not synonymize being worthless.

Hope suffocates in the place where shadows breathe. Mirkwood, once a great forest, has fallen into darkness. Thranduil and Legolas struggle to keep a failing kingdom alive, but they seem to fight a losing battle. What, though, will they do when one of those they strive to protect turns upon them? Corruption lurks in the halls of the Elven King, whilst Legolas, his warriors at the ready, must dispel both the malevolence at hand and the creeping danger that the spiders present.
