Romance and adventure…a trip to where an American tradition began… Libby Edwards, a gifted horsewoman, unwittingly wishes herself back in time to Louisville, Kentucky just before Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby become a reality. During Libby’s journey in the past, she stumbles upon her destiny. Unfortunately, he’s in the wrong century. In 1874, there’s no electricity, no internet, no modern medicine, no antibiotics—no Starbucks! And even worse than that, women have no rights. Libby has no desire to stay. Widower, Colin Thorpe, a renaissance man of his time, has big dreams. He is a horse breeder who names his thoroughbreds after Mythological Gods because he has a reverence for past cultures and an appreciation for the unexplainable. Libby and Colin can’t resist falling in love with each other. After all, Colin accepts Libby for who she is and she understands Colin’s dreams better than his deceased wife ever did. Yet he grasps early on that Libby doesn’t belong in 1874. And because his wife never adapted to the move from Virginia to Kentucky, becoming bitter and unhappy in the process, he won’t take the chance of the same thing happening to Libby. Can these two lovers find a way to be together despite their obstacles?

Highest rank: #5 Humor "THIS MEANS WAR ALEXA HARRISON!" "Oh I'd like to see you try Bad boy." Oh my goodness I honestly cannot be expected to describe EVERYTHING that happened in thirty nine seconds, since obviously that's roughly how long it'll take you to read all of this! Let's begin with a brief-ish introduction. Yeah, I can do that! I'm the badass. Dreaded by all the little beings around me. (Why? Because I'm freaking awesome!) That long list of people also happens to include the school bad boy. That dude's a softy when compared to me. That very soft, very large, very protective, bad boy just so happens to be my sort of best friend, sort of enemy, sort of everything else. Absolute softy I tell you! Gosh this introduction thing is definitely not what I signed up for! Anyways, So everything is sunshine-y in our little world until one day bad boy and I stumble upon something. Something precious, so very special that it couldn't have been with anybody else. Something beautiful really. Yes, that is correct, we discovered the power of REVENGE. It turned us into- WILD CREATURES. We took war seriously! If I flatten his tires, he sneaks into my house to freak me out. Hell we're immature. We hate each other from the depths our hearts but- we love each other too- just kidding we hate each other! Pure and horrible hate. "Admit it Lexi, you secretly love me!" Bad boy grinned. "Get out of here Bad boy, you weren't invited!" "Make me baby girl." He blew me a kiss. "I should've killed you with Hunter when I had the chance!" • Warning: IMMATURE content may make you want to hit your head to the wall at times and my head sometimes. Please do not resort to violence!*Grins* Alright, alright: Language! *Sighs* so much language *Shakes head* It would mean the world to me if you decided to read this but that's up to you! :) Maybe you'll laugh a little, who knows??? I'm absolutely crazy and somewhat evil so forgive me for my lame jokes and bad puns, please!

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't. I had the same thick, dark, curly hair. The same hazel eyes. The same olive skin with a light dusting of freckles (ugh) scattered across the bridge of my nose. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. No, these were an aggressive, dazzling blond that went from the roots of my hair all the way to the tips. It looked like I had spent a full day getting my hair done in some upscale salon. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. My whole body was rippling with strength. Like liquid steel.
