It isn't the bad things you intended to do that come back to haunt you. It's the ones you never meant to happen, that you can't bear to take responsibility for, that fester and grow over the decades. When you know you have nothing to lose, mistakes are inevitable. I've completed this story, but couldn't get any views on here, so I've tried Amazon's KDP Select instead. Four John Does are found in an alleyway, holding a host of artifacts. Taken to Pinemont Psychiatric Facility for treatment, they cannot recall anything about their pasts. Between them runs a strong feeling that they are misplaced in time. As the medications are reduced, the patients begin to remember their names, as well as their possibly violent purpose. Their awakening could spell salvation or damnation for the residents of Pinemont.

During the thousands years of war between Heaven and Hell, two humans were thrown straight into the war zone when God blessed them with the ability to put an end to the war. The plan was to have at least one of them choose either Heaven or Hell; however things didn't go as expected and even the now Devil's heart was broken in the process. Not even the angels or demons know what happened and why nor where this turn of events would take them. Years later, one of the blessed ones named Michelle descended to Hell to fix the things left behind in the past by finalizing the peace offer that was made between the two sides as well as mending the Devil's broken heart. The question is can she actually do it? Or does she have to realize that she might just have destroyed her own happiness by taking things into her own hand? In any case, the questions from the past shall be answered and soon we will all find out who was the real fool during the the bloody war that nearly killed everyone. _________________________ This short story is completely fictional. There's only one thing I love more than writing: Traveling. And I've been lucky enough to do so constantly. There's no hierarchy or actual order to these fragments - they are simply bits and pieces of places that have stirred words within me. This was a Short Story I was writing recently, and had hoped to send it for publication. It is an alternate 'take' on the myths surrounding Arthur, Merlin and Excalibur; a bit more 'Game of Thrones' if you will... In the end, I missed the deadline, and went horribly over budget with the wordcount. I slashed it down, and tried to tighten things up as it was overcomplicated and sickeningly adorned with flowery-prose. I really would just like some thoughts and advice, please... I'm aware, especially as a few weeks have elapsed since I wrote it, of it's short-comings.
