Kirstein Springston was a happy and down to earth woman, married to a loving husband named Blake. The happy couple were faced with the task of raising their daughter Kasey and their son Connor, but Blake never wasted a day not assuring Kirstein that they would make it, together. The day before their anniversary, Blake was driving home after picking up Kirsten's gifts. The stormy couple of days made the roads covered with about an inch of water. Blake was crossing an intersection when another driver tried to run a red light. The rogue driver was unable to stop in time, crashing into Blake's car on the driver's side, killing him instantly. Kirstein, a new widow, called her childhood friend, Jake Summer. Though he wouldn't fill the hole left by Blake's passing, he would be the one to help Kirstein get back onto her feet.
