This is an imagining of what a boat scene in season 3 of Anne With An E could have been like. (Written before it came out.)

Gilbert is there for Anne when she needs someone the most. Billy did far more damage than seen in the episode. Anne goes through my own journey of healing after a trauma. Serious issues. (Skip chapters 3-4 to make it less scary to read; if you skip 3 and 4, you will still know what happened, but you won't have to actually hear the details of the violence.)

Branches off from my story In The Woods When First We Met, but you don't have to read that story to get this one. Anne's been through something, but Gilbert's been there for her all along, and her family and friends know and support her too. This story is about what happens afterward. We see Anne through her pregnancy, raising her child, and her marriage to Gilbert.
