Aria was born into the most powerful coven in the North, but she didn't fit in. She failed Ceremonial Magic and couldn't channel through a wand. Instead, she prefered to work with herbs, and with an instinctive magic than none of the others in her coven could access, not even the High Priest, Aria's own father. But where did her power come from? And why did the call of the wilderness matter more to her than the rites and rituals of her family?
She doubted she'd ever have an answer to those questions, and so she found solace in art, in crafting, and in the persona she created to hide behind online. She accepted that she was a disappointment to her family; to her High Priest father, High Priestess step-mother, and to her doctor brother who would one day take over as leader of the coven. It didn't matter. Aria paid her own way and lived her own life, and she thought that would be enough for her. She thought she could be happy as long as she had her freedom.
Then a wolf ran out in front of her car and everything changed, because he was no ordinary wolf. When the injured beast shifted into a handsome man with mismatched eyes, begging for her help, Aria knew she couldn't ignore his plight. What she hadn't expected was for him to recognise something about her... something she'd never acknowledged, and something that someone had put a great deal off effort into keeping hidden.
But why would her family lie to her about her humanity? And how had the wolf with the mismatched eyes gotten so easily under her skin?
Aria wasn't sure what any of it meant, but she was about to realise that secrets couldn't remain hidden forever.
