I looked down at my feet, breathing in and out to distract myself from the pounding heart beat in the back of my head. Smoothing out the black cloth of my shirt, I pulled up my jeans and looked back up. After he noticed my clammy hands rubbing against the sides of my legs, he grabbed ahold of my hand rubbing circles into my knuckles.
"Breathe. Its ok, they love you." He spoke, letting out a breathy laugh with a sly tongue poking out between his teeth.
The screams of the crowd outside of the wing beckoned us to go on stage. He dropped my hand ever so carefully, looking back at the crowd through the sidelines.
I listened to the loud intercom booming through the theatre, signaling our entrance and the beginning of the show. As our names echoed across the stage, my eyes turned and lingered onto the blue ones next to mine, as we took the first step on stage.
