Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, blah-blah-blah. Let me be clear with you from the beginning. This is not that kind of story. My name is Cait, and I live in the great city of New York. Okay, so maybe I've only lived here for a week and a half, sue me, but what else am I supposed to say? This strange and beautiful metropolis is my new home, or the closest thing I've probably ever had to a home, and I intend to make the most of my time here. I'm 20 years old, an ex-sophomore in college, and I'm really good at math. Obviously, I've never filled out any kind of bio before. This is my story. In dem Leben der 16-jährigen Alison lief bis jetzt alles richtig gut. Mit ihrer aufgeweckten und fröhlichen Art kommt sie mit allen gut aus, wird von ihren Freunden und ihrer Familie geliebt und kommt in der Schule gut zurecht. Doch als ein Junge auf ihre Schule wechselt, der so ziemlich das Gegenteil von ihr zu sein scheint und zu allen nur total unhöflich ist, ändert sich ihr Leben komplett, denn sie ist grundsätzlich dafür zweite Chancen zu geben. Sie versucht ihm eine zweite Chance zu geben, damit er ihr zeigen kann, wer er wirklich ist, und als er dann diese Chance ergreift, lernt sie immer mehr einen Jungen kennen, den man mögen, und vielleicht sogar lieben, kann. Doch wieviel ist sie bereit für diese neu entdeckte Person zu geben?
