A year has gone by after the ski lodge, Maya has moved to a different part of New York with Katy and Shawn after the wedding, and started fresh as a sophomore at a new school. She is still close with Riley in communication but sees her not as often. This takes place upcoming fall of freshman year of college for Maya as she begins her program at Columbia University School of Arts. Riley will be attending Columbia Law school nearby.
