IN THE RUNNING TO WIN NANOWRIMO (which also means it's a draft, so please don't wreck me too hard).
The basic plot of this story was thought up by a friend I met on a writing role play forum. His username was EuRo, and he fell out of contact with me suddenly just as we were getting into the story. It didn't get very far, but I loved the bare bones plot so much that I've decided to finish it for us, under his credit for creating such a fantastic story idea and characters. The Modeni family, the kingdom name, and the names of a majority of the locations in the kingdom were also thought of by him.
~~~~~~~
Two warring families--the Baronel's and the Modeni's--in a fractured kingdom. Hundred of thousands of lives spent in a deadly family feud. Both familial lines have ancient lines to the throne of Alyssiana.
There you have the perfect reason to arrange a marriage between the two houses.
It's a feasible way to stop such a bloody war, right? In the end, both families gain their right to rule, and the kingdom no longer has to be torn between sides.
Virgil Modeni, the occasionally outspoken and introverted heir of the Modeni household, is decidedly betrothed to Vertiline Baronel, the continuously outspoken and intense only daughter in the Baronel house line. It's seemingly a poorly written melody, destined to fall out of tune before it even begins.
But, no matter how well or not the marriage goes, an ancient evil begins to stir in the Downtrodden Valley's of Alyssiana, threatening the land more than any civil war ever could.
