They are born of myth, legend, and lore. Beautiful women beneath the waves, tempting sailors with playful smiles and beckoning gazed as the break the surface. It is nearly every young sailors dream to encounter a mermaid, to see the beauties of the sea. Maybe, just maybe, to catch one too. That is...until their wish comes true. They find themselves face to face with the strange enchanting girl smiling just above the surface with skin like moonlight and lips like rose petals. Just one touch, is all it takes to seal a sailors fate. Beneath the waves is not ethereal beauty. But claws, and fangs, and blades of stone. Revealed in the sea is a mermaids true face and a sailors deadly fate. And Zariel is the deadliest of them all. Daughter of Poseidon and a deep sea mermaid she is dark, powerful, and beautiful by both mermaid standards and especially that of the humans. There is nothing she enjoys more than a hunt, collecting different skulls of different types of humans. Navy men, merchants, fishermen, pirates, and travelers alike. She has them all. Her collection is as admirable as her ferociousness. Only one type of mortal is missing. One skull she has yet to collect. A royal. Royal bones for a royal mermaid. Zariel, princess of the sea, doesn't want just any royal. No. She wants a prince. One who matches her in both ferocity and blood thirst. Zariel was going to get the skull of Rowan Delacroix if it was the last thing she did. Formerly first inline to the throne. A prince turned pirate. A hunter of mermaids. His ship was one she would take pride in wreaking.

He needs a place to live, she needs a baby daddy. Pietro Santangelo and Marguerite White are students at prestigious Columbia University in New York City. She is a fun-loving, free spirit who finds herself in a bit of a familial bind, he is an exchange student with a chronic case of poverty. They concoct a plan that they think will work, not realizing how much changes with two simple words... Pete merely looked at her and opened a box of books. He took some out and began placing them on the shelves, bending and stretching at his task. He had a nice back, broad shoulders and muscles that could be seen clearly under his light blue T-shirt. Daisy watched for a minute, fascinated. "Like what you see?" he asked without turning around. She jumped at the sound of his voice. "Well, you're the only thing in the room that's moving, you know?" she said by way of explanation. He turned around to look at her, books in either hand, a small grin on his face. "Of course, what was I thinking?" he asked rhetorically. "And look. We're both adults here, hm?" He looked carefully at her. "The couch we just brought up here cost fifty dollars at the second-hand store, and has to be at least thirty years old. I don't want to sleep on it, and I don't think you're going to want to sleep on it, either." She shook her head. "So the bed is nice and big," he continued. "I think we can manage, don't you? We can share the bed." He watched her for her reaction. "I give you my word this is not going to be a problem for me. At all. Is this going to be a problem for you?" She looked at him. "Really? At all?" She recovered from the unintentional meaning of his words quickly. "No, it won't be a problem for me, either," she said firmly. "We can share the bed." Content warning: This story contains mature sexual content, and themes of premarital sex and sexual assault.

Lacey is a bat girl. Seven years ago, her mother wished at the well in the heart of the Wish Wood, transforming a young bat-ling into a human girl--mostly human. But Lacey is growing up, Mama has a real daughter now, the kids in town tug on her pointy ears, and the schoolmistress chides her for hissing and baring her sharp teeth at her tormentors. Lacey is overwhelmed by all the typical angst of being a teenage girl, being an outcast, and the animal nature inside her--which seems to be out of her control. Will she give in to her baser instincts or will she be the daughter Mama wants her to be? The struggle brings her back to the haunted Wish Woods, where she learns just what kind of animal she can be. Throw in gigantic dust storms, lawmen out for blood, plus a wasteland to be traversed and you are in for an adventure sultrier than the desert sun! You would think May was living in paradise. After all, a gorgeous man just showed up on her porch willing to do anything she asks of him. But this is no paradise. May lives in a world settled by technology-rejecting idealists wishing to live in harmony with the land. That land, however, has not been very cooperative. The desert in the heart of the planet is spreading outward at an alarming pace, swallowing anything that gets in its way. And May? She's in its way, all right! Alone on her parents' dying farm, May has two goats, a shotgun, and a whole lot of dust. That's about all she has, until the day Ro shows up. Ro brings with him a secret most of their world isn't ready to face. The lawmen on his tail will do whatever it takes, including murder, to keep that secret buried in the desert sand. If they don't succeed in killing May and Ro, no matter: the desert might just do the job for them.
