Phil Lester is sweet and cute; known for his kindness and enthusiasm. Dan Howell is a tough, cold outsider; known as the school's stereotypical 'bad boy'. But if he's so bad, then why on earth did he rescue Phil Lester and give him a smile which would melt anyone's heart?

I never thought that I would meet my best friend and soul mate inside of a hellhole like high school. But I did. It was magical, in a way. You might even say that it was just like a dream.

Phil works as a barista in the Twisted Fern coffee shop. Twisted Fern coffee shop is squished beside an alley, so no one ever really takes any notice of it. When people do find it, they come regularly and sometimes find their soulmate in their own 'Coffee shop AU'. Phil, on the other hand, doesn't really understand the concept of love. He gave up a long time ago. It used to bug him that he was alone, but now he's just accepted his loneliness as individuality. Since he works the late-night shifts, there's usually very few people or couples who just hang around. Then again, every day without fail, a brown-haired stranger always sits at the end of the bar with the same thing as always - Earlybird tea, no milk, two sugars and a BLT. Nothing ever different. Phil didn't see the need for a lover, he had a hand go take care of most of his needs. It was his family who seemed to care so much about Phil finding a partner, whether it was a girl or a boy. It got to the point where Phil put up an ad on Craigslist. An ad that would lead him no where but straight to a man really in need of money. A man with the name of Dan Howell.

Staring into his eyes was like staring into the summer sky just before the sunset came, before the yellow, pink, and purple clouds came to fog up your vision. They were the definition of a cloudless sky, a clear river seen running through a wide field of grass, that one, blue, sparkling diamond that stood out more than any other in a goldmine. Shining like the stars and as light as a feather, they tricked you into a strange sense of security, a state that one would be foolish to leave intentionally.
