Jason was always popular. Now he runs his own lawfirm. Leo was the class clown. Now he's the prime suspect. Frank was the failing athlete. Now he's a football star. Hazel was an artist. Nothing much has changed. The last time they saw eachother was at their high school graduation.

Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Leo, Thalia, and Nico are sent to the future of Panem, taking a part in the 74th annual Hunger Games. Why are they there? Well, that's something they want to know as well. Because Zeus's reason doesn't seem good enough to send them on a life-threatening quest-- then again, does it ever? Pain bursts in my back. Pain like non other. I screamed and tried to claw at it, not knowing what was happening. Had I chosen wrong? What had I done? My vision clouds with yellow and black spots, and I collapse on my bed. The pain does not stop. My back feels like flames are seeping into my skin. I writhe on the bed trying to reach my back, but nothing helps. Screams escape my mouth but no one rushes to my aid. Did they not hear my agony? My head fills with pounding like the sound of a million drums being hammered on over, and over, and over. I roll onto the floor and claw my claw to the closed door. My thoughts are murky and my vision blurry, so I cannot stand up. My legs fail me. I reach the door and attempt to reach up towards the knob, but each sudden movement seems to send my soul farther and farther out of my body. I am almost there. The doorknob is an inch infront of me. I scream in agony one last time before collapsing to the floor.
