Earth is the only place where humans can live in peace without knowledge of the outer galaxies, but fifteen year old Sylvie is caught by alien slavers and brought away from refuge into the outer galaxies where humans are going extinct and are hated. While trying to find her way back home, she discovers the real reason why Earth is safe and meets interesting people and aliens along the way. Will she ever see her home planet again?

Time is running out. All Hallow's Eve is approaching and the Night Lord and his army of soul-devouring creatures called Shadowbeasts are preparing for a battle. A battle they will wage against mankind. But only two people know about the arising danger-- Hunter, a human boy with the ability to see and interact with ghosts, and Kiara, a spirit who had woken up alone in a graveyard with no memories.
