Es una de esas cosas que se leen con gozo porque han sido escritas con gozo; en otras palabras, porque son juveniles, entendiendo aquí juvenil como alegre. Se cree que escribió estas cosas cuando tenía diecisiete años, y evidentemente lo hizo de la forma en que la gente dirige una revista familiar, porque las ilustraciones que se incluyen en el manuscrito eran obra de su hermana Cassandra.
