John is the new kid, with everything that comes with that title; awkwardness, shyness, and attempts to make friends. Except all of this is made even worse with the fact that he's deaf. Dave is your stereotypical resident coolkid. Except he's not. He's a huge nerd, but most people find him intimidating, what with his shades and the fact that he doesn't talk to anyone. Or rather, that he can't talk to anyone, being mute. The two get paired together and form a close bond quite quickly, to the surprise of most of the school, but to none of their friends'. ((I really suck at descriptions. Also, updates for this aren't set, so be prepared for longish waits between chapters or several at a time.))

Dirk goes up to visit the Egbert-Crockers in Washington with Jake for Christmas for the first time in a couple of years. It just so happens that he arrives a couple days before a big snowstorm. It just so happens that Dirk has never seen snow in person before. Needless to say, many fluffy fun-times ensue.

Karkat Vantas knew ever since he was little that he was actually a she; she always dreamed of finding a love who accepted her for who she was. After the betrayal of her ex, her hopes were shattered. Cue the hipster douche bag to the rescue. A humanstuck au where karkat is transgender. I always see fem Dave/trans Dave but never Karkat. Dave Strider would never say he was depressed. He was troubled, but he never thought about suicide. That was, of course, until he met Karkat Vantas, who changed his views on the world and on life itself. However, depression is a slippery slope. Will he be able to pull them free from it's grasp? When Karkat's father decides to remarry, Karkat and the Striders are forced to attend. Family tends to bring out the worst in people, and this family is nothing but problems, especially for two lovebirds such as Dave and Karkat. DO NOT READ UNLESS YOUVE READ THE ORIGINAL STRI-DO'S AND DONT'S. This is a sequel to said story and it won't make sense unless you read that first. Its basically the story of their life after high school and the remarriage of Karkat's dad. Enjoy.
