This is a series of stories based on observations I have made while drinking coffee at Starbucks. Years of training as an investigator gives me little choice but to accidentally look into the lives of people I see. I don't do this so I can have something to write about. Based on a true story. By all accounts, Jorge Salas was a good man. He was a well known and well respected businessman, doting husband, and loving father. Many of the older officers in the department knew him well. Unfortunately, when I first met him he was lying dead in the office of his own business with 3 bullets in him. Follow me while I chase rumors of cartel assassins, disgruntled employees, missing money, bloated insurance claims, and a cheating wife. The truth will shock you.

My daughter, as smart as she is, sometimes says the craziest things. This is a collection of actual quotes that came directly from her. You can't make this stuff up. I blame it on her hair.

Not all stories have a beginning, middle, or end. Sometimes words just find you that are not going to fit into prose. Sometimes these words have a rhythm and flow to them. When that happens I will put these words down here. I am not a poet and poems are always far down on my list of things to read and they are never on my list of things to write. But they happen, and when they do I will put them here.

In my Chasing Wattpad series I made fun of short poems and pissed a lot of people off. I hate short poems. They are a waste of time. But never let it be said I will not try something once. As penance for my sins against the Haiku poets I will leave my comfort zone for a while and try and write some. I am guessing it won't kill me, maybe. By the way, what is a Haiku anyway?

Just stuff I think about once in a while.

Here are just a few thoughts I have about writing. I don't care if you are a professional or an amateur, I think you will recognize yourself in some of these words. I would love to hear your opinion.

Is Wattpad a good or bad thing? Are the people on here writers or do they just think they are? Whatever your answer to those questions there are a lot of mysteries surrounding Wattpad and the people that choose to write here. Every day thousands of you get on your computer and chase Wattpad all day long looking for something. What are you looking for and is Wattpad the place for you? I think we should all take a good look at these questions and try to answer them the best we can. It's time to be honest with ourselves. I am going to pose some questions here and make some observations that you might find not to your liking. It's okay. You'll live. Let's be honest with each other and see where this goes. Join me.
