For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world. Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer? When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

NOW PUBLISHED. What does it mean to be normal? It's such a loaded word, with about a billion different meanings, and every one of them makes Ava Collins sick. At 17, Ava has been deaf for as long as she can remember. She grew up constantly reminded that she wasn't - and couldn't - be normal, that she needed to be 'fixed', but it wasn't until she met Theo De Vries that she learned the truth. Deaf doesn't mean broken, it means different. And different isn't a bad thing. _____ © Jandra Sutton. 2017. All rights reserved. Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, blah-blah-blah. Let me be clear with you from the beginning. This is not that kind of story. My name is Cait, and I live in the great city of New York. Okay, so maybe I've only lived here for a week and a half, sue me, but what else am I supposed to say? This strange and beautiful metropolis is my new home, or the closest thing I've probably ever had to a home, and I intend to make the most of my time here. I'm 20 years old, an ex-sophomore in college, and I'm really good at math. Obviously, I've never filled out any kind of bio before. This is my story. It's the kind of story where reality bites, love isn't always what it seems, and maybe - just maybe - everything won't suck in the end. #43 in General Fiction - 12/02/2016 #44 in Teen Fiction - 6/11/2017 _____ © Jandra Sutton. 2016. A collection of short stories, poems, things that I want to write about but don't want to commit being long novels or put into a poetry book. Sometimes I just want to write ideas in short bursts. This is the place to dedicate that spark of creativity. This is called Night Light Writing for a reason. More often than not I'll be writing right before I fall asleep. If you see anything that needs to be corrected or something that doesn't make sense please let me know. I'll probably be half asleep when I write most of these. As a result, some meanings may be blurred or butchered. One day I will edit them. I apologize in the meantime. All of these are my own ideas. This entire book and everything it contains is an original work unless stated otherwise at the beginning of the chapter. Have some integrity. Please don't steal. This book was originally published on my other profile. The first three chapters are stated as such seeing as they have been moved here. The rest are completely made from this profile. I just need to be organized and I don't want my completely original work on my fanficiton account.

Ever wondered what someone with depression, or any form of mental illness, has running through their brain? What triggers them? What they have to go through, mentally and physically, to pull themselves out of the darkness in their own minds? What they feel emotionally and physically? There are many different obstacles one with a mental illness has to push themselves through to get to the finish line before another obstacle comes into their view again. This monologue is a sneak peak of what goes inside my brain and how I have to mentally and physically push myself to cross another finish line, because in reality, a mental illness is much like a race. #Mindovermatter
