This a Death Note Fanfiction. Basically, it's in between the Kira case and L's death. You know the five years that are just not in the anime? Well, this is what happened to Mello and Matt in those five years! I just realized that Mello didn't have his scar or Matt with him in those years...OKAY! so it's set sometime in between his death and him leaving Wammy house!

A new girl comes to Wammy's. And soon befriends Matt and Mello. Pranking ensue and everything is fine. Until Mello leaves. What will happen to Matt? How far will she go to protect them both? He didn't remember exactly how they met the first time at Wammy's Orphanage. Hell, he barely remembered what he said to her that day let alone how they met. They just...did, for lack of better explanation, and yet she hadn't left his mind. Even after he ran away from the place he once called home, she was always on the back of his mind. Now, four years later, she was back in his life once again, and he still felt the way he did back during his days at the orphanage. It was unexplanable; he didn't know what to do or how to react. Maybe it was as Matt had once put it: "Mello, you love her."

He suddenly falls sideways out of his chair. But Anne jumps in just in time to catch him when he falls. "Ryuzaki!" Matsuda exclaims as he runs towards the commotion. "What's wrong?" Ryuzaki doesn't respond. He stares desperately at Anne, but she already knows what's happening. She can feel his heart beat slowing. There's nothing anyone can do now. "Ryuzaki..." Anne says to him. She can feel tears coming, and she tries her best to hold them in. But, to no avail. "Anne..." Ryuzaki says to her as he struggles to breath, no longer using her alias. "Yes?" She answers him. "I.. I love you." He says. " Please... remember me..."
