Joe's entire life crumbled when his successful husband blatantly asked for a divorce and admitted that he no longer had any feelings for him. He fell into a crippling depression, losing his workplace, becoming an alcoholic and finding himself unable to afford a place to stay. His disappointed grandmother left him in the streets, and he was left homeless where he slept in alleyways, drunk. Until a new bartender named Jamie started working in at local bar Joe usually visited, and Joe was shocked when he asked, "How about you move-in with?" Not only does he get paid, but he basically lives there for free. Jamie offers him all his clothes, and free time to do whatever he wants.
