-Newt, si sigues caminando tanto te vas a quedar rengo de ambas piernas -Se burló Thomas, al ver a su amigo ir caminando de un lado a otro. Este se sentó de golpe en el pasto, junto a Thomas y Chuck, soltando un exagerado suspiro de cansancio. -Chuck, ve a cuidar a la chica un rato, por si despierta -Ordenó el rubio, sin perder el tono amable de su voz.  Luego de que el niño se marchara, Thomas y Newt se quedaron callados, mirando la entrada del laberinto. En menos de dos horas, los corredores tenían que pasar por esas puertas, sino querían quedar atrapados allí. -¿Cómo fue que te hiciste eso? -Preguntó Thomas, señalando la pierna de Newt con la cabeza. -Ya te lo había dicho. -Sólo me has explicado el porqué. Newt soltó una risa amarga y lo miró a los ojos. -¿De verdad quieres saber cómo intenté suicidarme, Tommy? Este tardó en responder, pero finalmente -y con cierto temor-, terminó asintiendo con la cabeza. El rubio suspiró, y se preparó para contar una larga historia.
