There is no immediate desire to settle down, but when he realizes he's stuck in an okay lifestyle, Bakura doesn't quite enjoy the idea of things being the way they are for the rest of his life. He wants more. And then there's Marik- the thrill that Bakura feels drawn to, propelling him to do things he knows he shouldn't want to do, and feel things he shouldn't want to feel. Marik actually isn't sure what he's feeling, but he loves it. It's new, it's exciting, it's powerful- but it's dangerous, and he still finds himself wanting more, although he doesn't dare to let himself act on it. It's human nature to want more. To spend your time how you want it, not to waste it on the mediocre. As long as they're happy, it shouldn't matter the consequences. But when the side effects of their bliss are disastrous, they can't help but feel a little...guilty. (Prequel to Alone Together)

This causes him to become a full parental figure for him and adopt him as his own 'Son'. With both making a promise to each other a plan is set; Yugi goes to school while Yami gets a job to support them both. Yami finds a job but as a stripper in a new nightclub which isn't okay with Yugi but chooses to support him anyways, but only with the promise of him not doing anything else dangerous. Stripping isn't enough to support them both which brings the once great duelist to selling his body for even more extra cash, which gives him hardly any time to spend with Yugi since he's always exhausted. Yami who is always sexually harassed by clients at the nightclub or abused from time to time by certain clients on the streets makes him realize he's only digging his own grave more but continues stepping on broken eggshells continuously breaking Yugi more by the day. Though he still has some morals, Yami is willing to go far in every way possible to support his 'Son', the only thing he won't do is kiss his clients or anyone else for that matter on the lips. Seto Kaiba who hears rumors of a easy stripper and prostitute both by the name of 'Dark Magician' gets curious to see if it's really his rival but to his dismay finds out is facts desperate to get him out of the mess he made showing that he in fact has feelings for his rival. What will Yami do when his rival finds out? Will he accept his help or just continue digging his own grave?

Thiefshipping little mermaid parody With my own little abridged twist Marik, a merman, has always dreamed of the human world that he's forbidden to see. He has collected items that humans seem to leave behind and drop into the ocean. With Odion and a disapproving Ishizu, they visit a boat full of humans and Marik finds (the sexy) Yami Bakura. After trading a precious item for human legs, Marik is able to live among humans, but just for three days. And, since Marik totally isn't gay, he may not kiss Bakura within that time, or else he'll return to being a merman. Simple enough, right?
