|mature content| In the shadows lurk beasts that mankind are completely oblivious to. They blend in with society so it's almost undetected. But when a curious mind sets off Cassandra, she's determined to find out what secret Harry is hiding. To find out what makes him so... different. This is NOT a sequel to Grey Street, only bits and pieces of their story after that day in the café. I'd highly suggest reading Grey Street first. What happens when Harry becomes the missing piece of Elle's New York story.

But I know I can't be that for him. Because every time he looks at me, I'm never gonna be home for him. I'll always be someone who reminds him of what he did. And to make sure I don't do that, I have to leave. As long as he no longer feels guilty and have to carry the burden, I'll pretend as if everything was a dream. After today, this was all nothing but a good dream. Nothing but a good, happy dream.

When I was a little kid I met this girl. She was strange in every sense of the word. But for some reason, I liked that. We were friends for a long time, this girl and I. Until one day she left. She never told me why she had to go, just that it was important. One of the last things that she ever said to me, was that one day she would come back. Ten years passed and I never heard from her again. I grew up... Now, at age 17 i’m in One Direction. I’ve gained four new brothers and together, we’re world famous. And I couldn’t be happier. And now... Now that it seems like I have everything... She turns up. And she’s about to change everything.

"It's funny, really, how in the midst of torturous pain, immense suffering, and looming dread, everything seems to disappear around you. Emotions flea, pain evaporates, and you're left to feel nothing. You don't protest; there's nothing you can do. You just lay there and allow whatever it is to keep doing it, to keep harrowing you. You don't become wracked with sobs; you don't cry out for help; you don't push, shove, or shriek. There's no one to save you. You lay there motionless, almost as if you were in a deep unconscious sleep. Because feeling nothing, is better than feeling something of weary misery and hopelessness. Feeling nothing in the midst of pain was doable; it was tolerable. It's odd, really, that you feel nothing when you are fitfully defeated because it is better than feeling the insufferable pain which insinuates that of a broken soul."
