Meet Alyssa Bent, she's a nerd. But not your typical one. She likes to read, but her world doesn't totally revolve around books. She's not shy nor does she stutter when someone tries to corner her. She can stand up to anyone provided it doesn't involve attention. Attention is the only thing that scares her, and like always, there's a reason behind it. Maintaining a balance of grades and producing comebacks with sarcasm dripping from each word isn't the only talent she possesses. Enter Aaron Pelt, the most popular boy at Gradient High. Girls fawn over him. Well, who wouldn't? He's the star soccer player, after all. With the looks no less than a model, he has no problem maintaining his status on the social ladder. He maintains a cool aura around him all the time. They both go to Gradient High, a school that is divided into two social groups: the popular ones and the nerds. The popular ones are the wealthy snobs and the nerds are the ones who practically are their slaves. At Gradient High, these two groups can never get along! Like Ever! But who knew that the most popular guy and the nerd would actually be best friends? That's right! Alyssa and Aaron have been best friends since their diaper days. But at school, they are forced not to acknowledge each other's presence because if they did, Aaron's reputation might suffer and Alyssa may be subjected to something she hates the most: attention. While Aaron may not know, the reason why Alyssa hates attention might be even more than she lets him believe. A reason that might even force her to throw away her future dream. So will Aaron be able to break through the walls and push her out even when he has the pressure of popularity and the school status weighing him down? Get ready to expect the unexpected. You might want to change your definition of clichè after reading...... #1 Humour- 08.01.16 (Cover by: -infinities) *NOT EDITED SO KINDLY BEAR WITH ME!

What trouble can a little blog about teenage love bring? Harriet "Harry" Byrne has a secret. And it's a pretty big one. Besides being a wallflower in real life, Harriet hides online behind her alter-ego, posting on her infamous blog Lovefool. The virtual creation of her oldest sister, when she was a freshman in high school, the responsibility of the website has been passed down to Harriet as a right of passage. From the beginning, the intent of the blog has always been the same: to lend an ear and offer friendly advice with every post. Now over the years, the Lovefool site also served a dual purpose: to warn unsuspecting Summit High females about their male counterparts. If they're known cheater or womanizer, they might land themselves on the top five of the naughty list that is updated weekly. The only way to finagle yourself off the list is either by a newcomer claiming your spot and that person is just old news, or you have to prove yourself worthy. Although, it's not as easy as it seems. Just ask Tanner Wilson about that. Everything changes for him once his girlfriend, Claudia breaks up with him after Lovefool posts his name to the top of the list after being caught on tape kissing another girl. Stung by rejection, Tanner sets out on a mission--to unmask the true identity of the Lovefool to everyone. What happens when fate (or a little sociology project) thrusts Harriet and Tanner together? And even worse, what happens when he finds out about her little secret? First Place Winner in Humor ~ The Athena Awards 2017 Cover credit goes to @emmahavana

Seventeen year-old spirit medium Emily Chambers has a problem. Actually, she has several. As if seeing dead people isn't a big enough social disadvantage, she also has to contend with an escaped demon and a handsome ghost with a secret past. And then there's the question of her parentage. Being born an entire year after her father's death (yes, a year) and without the pale skin of other respectable English ladies, Emily is as much a mystery as the dead boy assigned to her. Jacob Beaufort's spirit has been unable to crossover since his death several months ago. It might have something to do with the fact he was murdered. Or it might not. All he knows is, he has been assigned by the Otherworld's administrators to a girl named Emily. A girl who can see and touch him. A girl who released a shape-shifting demon into the mortal realm. Together they must send the demon back before it wreaks havoc on London. It should be a simple assignment, but they soon learn there's nothing simple when a live girl and a dead boy fall in love. THE MEDIUM is the first book in the Emily Chambers Spirit Medium trilogy. Yes, that's *trilogy* - meaning not everything will be wrapped up nicely at the end of The Medium. There are 2 more books after it, both of which are published. Check out my website for details.

"What's wrong, mate?" Albus asked me. He looked at where I was looking- the point where Lily had disappeared- and slapped his forehead. "You STILL fancy my sister?" Rose didn't say anything, which was odd for her. I turned my attention back to Al. "So what if I do?" I asked with false bravado. "Mate, she hates you like she hates Derrick McLaggen. Maybe worse." I remembered McLaggen. He was the Slytherin that I'd hexed into oblivion after he'd tried to make a move on Lils. That was when she'd hexed me worse than I'd hexed him. "I don't need your help," she'd snapped at me, and stomped away. "You're welcome," I'd sighed. Now, looking at that small, obscure point where she'd vanished, I wanted to go after her, make her talk to me. But I knew Al was right. She hated me. And that, reader, is how I started my year- looking forward to fun and torture in the sparkling, dancing, penetrating blue eyes of Lily Luna Potter, the daughter of the Boy who Lived. "You guys make an adorable couple, even if he's an arrogant, cocky idiot who doesn't know that his true capability is 100% downwards from his assumed capability." What was meant to be sent to Fleur Dream's best friend, Jackie Heart, was sent to Jeremy McGinn -- the boy who Fleur was describing. The email sparks the beginning of a humorous quarrel-cum-"loving"-series-of-emails between two fighters.
