**Highest Rank: #16 in Historical Fiction 5/1/21** Between Two Worlds - A Novel of Ancient Rome Enid hates the Romans who enslaved her. Broken-hearted over the life she lost in Britain, she vows to bury her name and her past where the Redcrests can never reach it. As years of servitude pass, bitter resignation replaces her longing to return home. Then an unlikely friendship with a fellow outcast raises Enid out of her isolation, bringing both hope for the future and questions about the confusing God of the Christiani. Yet memories of her childhood haunt her, urging her to cling to her old identity, while the barriers of Roman society remain in the way of her deepest dreams. The peace she thought she made with the past is crumbling. But time is running out for Enid and those she loves. Danger threatens the household she serves as persecution stalks her few friends. She must decide if risking it all for the one she loves is worth giving up the world she knows. Even if it is a choice between life and death. Fabulous cover by my sweet friend, @FayLane! Grabbing my arm, he forces me to my feet. Roughly, he binds my hands together and leaves a long strand of rope which he attaches to his own wrist. "Now, you're going to tell me how to find my brother," he orders. "And why would I do that, James?" "Actually, it's Captain. Captain Hook." Seizing the front of my shirt, he yanks me towards him so our faces are only a few inches apart. My dark flashing eyes meet his cold blue gaze. "You will do as I say or pay the price." Synopsis: Jimmy has been the guardian of Neverland longer than she can remember. She thinks solitude suits her well as the magical island is carefully guarded from outside worlds. However, one day, a strange boy washes up on the shore. His complicated past, uncertain future, and outlaw brother threaten Jimmy's sanctuary. I couldn't put my phone down! Your story is very engaging and amazing!" "I found the book very creative, the idea of setting it in Neverland yet changing the characters from their traditional roles is a great idea. The plot is gripping and interesting. It is full of dramatic surprises and great characters that make the book suspenseful and fun to read." "I love your take on Neverland. Adding Greek mythology was really a nice touch. Jimmy is an unusual character and she seems very opinionated (in a good way), and is very relatable...I love this book!"

"How did you find this place?" Zia asked the King, speaking for the first time since entering the tent. "I've been searching for the location of your Headquarters for months- years, really." Donathan admitted. "We only found it when we got wind that two new recruits would be coming here today. My men tailed them here this morning and sent for me as soon as they were certain of the location." The tent was silent. Finally Arch said thoughtfully, "You say you come to negotiate?" The King nodded. "Very well, then," Arch said, "I will oblige. If I do answer your plea, can I insure that this camp and all those who live in it will remain protected and untouched?" Donathan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, I believe you can." "And," he went on, "can I trust that this place will remain secret to the outside world?" "My men are sworn into secrecy," the King assured him. Arch fell silent once again. This quiet seemed to last longer than all the others. Zia wanted to know what he would say, and His Highness and Jay appeared to be in the same boat. "Very well, then," Arch said, stretching forth his hand for the King to shake. "When shall we sort out the details?" Cover made by the incredibly talented @italychick

Ari Callahan has no idea how to talk to boys -- or how to talk to anyone for that matter. Enter Zac, the cute new guy in town who won't stop texting her. But is his interest real, or does he have a hidden agenda? ***** Found as a young child washed up on the beach, 17-year-old Ari Callahan has never uttered a word out loud to anyone -- not even her adoptive family. Psychologists have diagnosed her with a condition called selective mutism, but Ari can't help identifying with her namesake character, Ariel, the little mermaid in the fairytale whose voice was stolen by a sea witch. Mermaid-obsession aside, Ari's silence makes socializing tough. She's never had a boyfriend or been asked out on a date. Not until Zac, the confident new arrival in town, asks for her number. But Zac has his own reasons for texting with Ari. He's part of a movement to sabotage the artificial music app called SirenSong, threatening to render human singing obsolete. Zac's collaborators have scoured the globe in search of a singing voice perfect enough to break the SirenSong spell, and their search has led them straight to Ari's beachside town. Will her relationship with Zac help Ari find her voice and unlock the secrets of her origins? Or will he use her and leave her high and dry? Title: Ari and Zac (formerly The Mermaid Hypothesis) Content Warning: This story contains references to selective mutism, suicidal thoughts, and early childhood trauma.

The notorious Fox and his (dashing) band of thieves and scoundrels, known for their wit, speed, and ability to disappear without a trace, have worked hard in the last few years to carve out a name and a refuge for themselves in the war-torn chaos of the Midlands. But with thinning resources and ruthless Captain of the Guard Uldien's personal vendetta, not only against Fox but seemingly all of the Midlands, the last thing Fox needs is a distraction. Gaelian, the opposite of a thief and a scoundrel (and just about everything else in the Midlands for that matter), is a distraction. A determined distraction. One who holds both the key to Fox's past and the burden of a dark secret that affects herself, Fox, and the fate of the entire Two Kingdoms. But will she be able to convince Fox to care? *ehem* (Meaning about the secret...of course. *winkwink*) Danger, adventure, clever banter, heroics, true love, a curse, and a happily ever after.
