Fear. A four letter word. It's simple really, it only works if you let it, and it only controls you if you choose to be so vulnerable. But the word, and the concept are two very different things because see, it seems simple; It's not. Fear can crumple a person, into a small fragment of what they once were, a hollow shell if you will. It leaves them breathless, wide eyed and riddled with goosebumps at what could possibly happen next. Like when you sit through a scary movie and the person next to you jumps just to send chills down your spine. Chills that never quite go away. Always creeping up on you, always there behind you, waiting for the best moment, or worst, to attack your whole body. Fear changed me. But- Not only did it change me. It ruined me. I guess people can do that. Fear was a person in this specific case, and fear was brutal, never ending, and absolutely gut wrenching. He was fear. Warning/- this story was written when I first started writing and the writing itself isn't what I'd like it to be. I'm rewriting it, proceed with caution!

**COMPLETED** "Did you just let him pee on the fence?" The crabby lady from next door asked us, a scowl ever present on her pale face. "No. It rained in that one spot." I replied sarcastically. A laugh threatening to fall from my mouth. "I'm not stupid." She stepped out onto her porch. Eyeing us angrily. "Could've fooled me." I spoke up, taking in her horrendous appearance. "I...well-uh. Stupid teenagers." She turned around and stomped back into her house. Slamming the door behind her. I burst into a fit of laughter and grabbed Carson by the arm, walking out of the backyard. "Have fun in hell lady! Send me a postcard." ******* Carson Lawson and Valerie Rosemont have been living next to each other since they were kids. When Valerie was 13, Carson pulled her out of the road only seconds before she would've gotten hit by a car, and somehow managed to save her bike as well. He said she owed him that day, but she thinks he forgot. Did he? Or is he saving the favor for a rainy day?
