Chloe's got it all: a happy marriage to Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt, her first child on the way, and the chance to be the maid-of-honor in her best friend, Lori's, upcoming wedding. The stresses of the past year are behind her... almost. Chris Winters, Chloe's half-brother, still isn't in jail, even though he's the main suspect in a double homicide. The police don't have enough hard evidence to charge him with the crime, but Chloe is certain it was him. After all, he tried to kill her when she was a child. When Chris begins to stalk Lori, Chloe is furious and decides it is past time he was locked up for good. She has the best security team money can buy, yet she knows they're missing something, and mistakes in this business can be deadly. The deeper she digs, though, the less the facts add up. Chloe's got mere weeks to figure out how to keep her best friend safe, save the wedding from disaster, and get Chris back in jail where he belongs. That is, if she can gather enough evidence before he strikes again.

If you haven't read Break It Up, this does have some spoilers in it. Everyone needs a safe space. For Lizzie Warner, that space has always been in front of the camera on her hit show, or on stage to a sold out concert arena. Since before she can remember, she's been a star, but that may be about to change. She's nineteen. Her show has been cancelled and now she's going to play the lead in a new prime time drama series, but is the world ready to take her seriously, or will she be typecast as the cute tween queen forever? Her network has decided to be aggressive and has invested millions of dollars in an ad campaign for her show, money she's not sure she can earn back. Her co-star can't stand her, and the writing for the show turns out to be poor at best. The only reason Lizzie didn't walk away from the job offer to begin with is because she's broke, the victim of a decade of bad money management. Then there's Devon, the personal trainer at her gym. Arrogant and abrasive, he's the last guy she should ever find attractive, but she has a hopeless crush on him anyway, and he doesn't seem entirely disinterested either. In fact, sometimes he's downright sweet to her. If only he weren't an untamable bad boy who uses and dumps women like they're nothing. Though Lizzie's friends warn her to stay away, he's the only person who can create what she needs: a safe space. But is there any way she can break him of his years' long habit of being a user?

"Xander, you can't sit here and tell us that this doesn't look the least bit suspicious to you," Mordecai told me. "I'm pretty sure I know my own girlfriend, and I highly doubt she would shoot herself just to prove a point, or whatever the fuck you think she did it for," I replied. "This memory thing she has going on doesn't sit well with me. It's shady if we're being honest," Nadia commented. "You're just mad that Xander isn't interested in you anymore," Aziel told her. I inwardly laughed at the look on her face. "Ok, so maybe we need to look at this from a non biased view. She showed up shot, she can't remember anything, and her recent activities are questionable. That doesn't necessarily mean that she's guilty of all these crimes," Nigel pointed out. "Are we all forgetting the glorified fact that Xander taught her how to fight, and it only took her a day to learn everything? The girl is dangerous and you're all being blind!" Nadia said in frustration. I shrugged. "She's a fast learner. I don't get what you're so worked up about." "What is it about this girl that makes everyone doubt that she could possibly be a murderer?" she asked. "Have you even met her? Because you seriously sound bitter more than anything," Malachi told her. "I don't need to meet her. I know enough," she snapped. I got off of the table I was leaning on. "Look Nadia, you're honestly picking at straws, and it's clear that you don't like Noelle much, but I would highly suggest you stop accusing her of all this shit because she's innocent and you're starting to piss me off." "She's guilty and I'll prove it!" she said determinedly. I was about to say something when the door to the operations room flung open, revealing Margaux. "Alright, listen up! You have a new mission." "Finally! What is it?" Aziel asked. She smirked slowly. "It's simple really. Forget everything you thought you knew about Noelle Solano." Fuck my life!

Lunch went by pretty quickly, and we were back to classes soon enough. I'd forgotten to get a book from my locker, so I quickly went to get it. I was leaning on the locker next to mine as I quickly scanned my schedule on my locker door, when warm air fanned the side of my face. "Move." Being the excellent human being I am, I jumped out of fright, flinging the heavy calculus textbook in my hand backwards. I heard a grunt and turned to find the person behind me now hunched over as they held onto a part of their face. "Oh God! I'm so sorry!" I panicked. And then he looked up. The first thing I noticed was his short, dark hair. It looked so smooth, and I almost reached out to play with it. My eyes trailed down to his strong jaw line, down to his broad shoulders. I didn't even realize that I was biting my lip as I further inspected the Adonis before me. His arm flexed, bringing my attention to the amber eye he was now covering. It was him. Six. The most popular and dangerous guy in school. And I'd managed to injure him with my calculus textbook. I'm dead. *********** #11 Teen Fiction - 31 December 2015 #15 Teen Fiction - 16 December 2015 #16 Teen Fiction - 16 December 2015

This is the almost final draft of this book, which will come out January 12, 2016! Chloe never set out to be famous, but her marriage to Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt, made her a celebrity by association. Jealous and nosy fans heckle her in public and the tabloids portray her as cold, arrogant, and unworthy of her husband. As bad as that is, it's about to get a whole lot worse. Her brother, Chris, is being paroled from prison, where he has been serving time for shooting and nearly killing Chloe when she was a child. This is not a situation that she wants splashed all over the headlines, especially because this could incite her brother to try to finish the job. When Chloe gets word of a string of crimes that might be tied to her brother, she finds she has yet another enemy: their father, Dr. Winters. He refuses to cooperate with Chloe's security team and even gives the police a hard time when they try to investigate. The one ally Chloe has in her own family is her half-sister, Beth, a public prosecutor intent on bringing Chris to justice. Her approach is so aggressive that everyone from Chloe's security specialist to the police detective insists that she is doing more harm than good. Beth assures Chloe that her way is the only way that will work, which leaves Chloe to decide whether to trust the experts, or the sister she barely knows. The wrong choice puts her very life in danger.
