"I knew that if I didn't play my cards right, our story would end with her betraying me with gunshot to the head. For now, she was loyal. The question was simply of how long that blind trust would last." Nick is an arms dealer in a war-torn country. Having cut everyone from his life, his only interactions with others are with his customers, a disgraced doctor running an illegal practice, and Acadia, an ex-military sniper and Nick's business partner. His routine of manipulating Acadia and selling weapons ends when he's contacted by a wealthy family with one job: get their son out of the country. The seemingly simple mission grows complicated as the boy's past becomes clear and Nick loses his control over his partner.

Arden Gray: A catty, beautiful, endlessly underestimated teenage girl drowning in a crippling tidal wave of depression. She spends more time in the realm of books than reality, and struggles to keep her head above water as her world seemingly comes crashing down around her. Lucas Riverton: The seventeen year old boy in the awkward stage between child and adulthood, who works at a local bookstore as a means of escape. He barely knows Arden, but is positive that there is something about her, something he wants to devote the rest of his life to figuring out. Two worlds connect in an unfathomable force as young lovers relish in the discovery of a feeling that is beyond description--- and do everything in their power to prevent the inevitable destruction of it. ~~ REVIEWS ~~ "A poignant story about the deterioration of love between two young teenagers that don't know anything but how to fall." "...flawless, simple, and very imaginative." "This is a wonderful, angsty story...read in one sitting!" "Arden Gray is a unique and quirky character that I found myself growing attached to right away...This author manages to pack more emotion in one sentence of dialogue than most people can in a whole paragraph of metaphorical description."

28 year old Martin Carter is a self-made billionaire. He's made his business through computers and sleeping around. Nothing has gotten in his way as he ventures to reach the top. No woman. No child. No other man. Society was falling to their knees at the very mention of him. Unfortunately, that was the old Martin. The new Martin Carter is in trouble. He's invested in the wrong people and in the wrong companies, and after ten years on top, it's coming around to bite him in the ass. Luckily enough, he has a good mentor, supporting parents, and looks that could kill. Now all he needs is a rich wife. 26 year old Marie is not a billionaire, or a millionaire. She isn't even rich. She works as a maid at a local motel in South Carolina. Her aspiration; become a journalist. First step; finish college. Second step; earn enough money to go to Europe for a summer. Third step; write a book about it. Seems like a simple enough list. Unfortunately, Marie meets Mr. Carter. He's grieving, she's working. She needs the money, he has it. So they strike a deal. She sleeps with him and he gives her the money. Easy enough right? Wrong. They both have other things in mind, but neither of them include falling in love.
