Phyllis is a hardworking teen who was born and raise in Brooklyn, New York working at an upscale restaurant in Manhattan to help pay the bills. There she meets a guy out of the norm but he's deliciously attractive and into her. The only thing is she's never had any interest in guys out of her race and has little to no dating experience. So she definitely has to keep her mind right and not be consumed with everything going around her like her cute co-worker Ryan who's always there for her. When he also gets out of his place to chase after her heart, issues at school and within her family arise Phyllis's life gets a bit hectic while trying to find a place in her heart for romance and finding a dream for herself.
